Hello everyone, and welcome to the very first episode of the new real estate podcast. I am your host, Loida Velasquez, and I can't tell you how excited I am about finally getting to do this podcast. This has been something that has been on my mind for quite a few years now. But I have always found myself very busy with either transactions or my team or just handling other real estate business that I kept on putting off to the side.
But you know what? The time has come. Even though it's December of 2020, it's never late enough for me to launch this podcast. So in this episode, I just want to share with you guys a little bit more about me. So in case you have no idea who I am, I am a real estate agent in Southern California with Team BC, at eXp Realty. I have been a real estate agent for the past five years.
And prior to that, I used to work in marketing and advertising.
I absolutely loved what I did. You can go to my YouTube channel. There's quite a few videos where I talk about what I did in the past. But long story short, I pretty much traveled 100 percent of the time. That's what I did with one of my last employers.
But prior to that, yeah, I worked with a whole bunch of different clients from entertainment, automotive, and client services. I mean, movies, films, you name it.
I probably did it and I absolutely loved it, but I didn't see myself doing that long-term. And more specifically, the last employer that I used to work with. As I said, I was traveling 100 percent of the time and I just didn't want to live out of a suitcase from hotel to hotel for the rest of my life. So I saw real estate and all of the opportunities that it would bring me and the lifestyle that I would be able to live, how I would be able to help my family.
And I saw that as being something that I wanted to pursue. So five years later, here we are. And, you know, the funny thing is that prior to fully going into real estate pretty much full time, I was actually in the process of getting my master's.
I went back to school to get my master's in business administration because at that time and this was back in 2014, at that time, I thought that you know what? If I go back to school and I get a master's, eventually I will be able to land this amazing corporate career. And this is how I'm going to be able to make six figures. Well, long story short, I ended up dropping out of that. And just to go back a little bit further out, I did graduate from Cal Poly Pomona here in Southern California back in 2010 with a degree in business, and I focused on marketing, advertising and promotions.
So all of my experience has been in that field. But yeah, as I mentioned, I went back to school to pursue my master's. So I thought but I'm glad that I ended up dropping out because I did when I knew that I wanted to pursue real estate full time. And it has been the best decision that I have ever made. Now, real estate is definitely not easy. If you have been watching my videos, I have shared with you so much in terms of the process, what you can expect, the expectations versus the actual reality, and what you see on TV.
And it definitely it's not easy. There's a lot of blood, sweat, and tears that goes into this business. And the purpose of this podcast is for me to share with you all of these experiences that have gone through so long with what I usually post on my YouTube channel. In this podcast, I will be sharing with you a lot of the crazy stories that you don't hear about in the YouTube videos.
Not only that, but I will have a lot of special guests come in and drop their knowledge that way. You know exactly what to expect, especially if you're a brand new real estate agent or have been in the business for maybe a year or two. And you know what? This podcast is not only for new real estate agents, but it is also open to those veteran agents that are just looking for some entertainment, some tips, and some advice. Maybe they need to spice up their business a little bit.
So I hope that in this show you will learn so much. That's very valuable information. As I said, I like to be entertaining and I love to deliver a lot of educational value. So I hope that you subscribe to this podcast, whether you are listening on a streaming platform or maybe you are watching on YouTube because. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I will be recording every single episode onto YouTube so you can catch it there. And every episode will be delivered and posted every Monday and Thursday.
So with that being said, I am so excited to get this going finally. After so many years of thinking about it, if you enjoy this episode and future ones and to be notified, make sure you subscribe to
